Amy Yan & Sophie Shen - members of Rotary Satellite Club End Forced Organ Harvesting
Sophie is an architecture designer who came across Rotary through the RI Convention in Melbourne in 2023, where she volunteered.
Amy is a software developer who first learned about Rotary after attending the State Organs screening hosted by EFOH in Melbourne. ( EFOH is End Forced Organ Harvesting)
Around October last year, both of them joined the EFOH Rotary Satellite Club to help raise awareness of the forced organ harvesting issue - an issue that affects us all.
Sophie and Amy both attended RC Carlton’s Changeover Dinner way back in July so there they are today! Forced organ harvesting is the practice of removing organs from individuals without their voluntary consent. This often involves victims from marginalized groups, prisoners of conscience , or those in poverty, where organs are extracted -while the victim is still alive -to sell on the black market or in illicit transplant systems.
